At the Yale Farm, students, faculty, staff and community members come together to learn about the connection between land and food. Working in this diverse, four-season market garden teaches the principles of sustainability and the practices of sustainable agriculture.
The Farm, a 15-minute walk north of the Old Campus, hosts workshops, seminars, festivals, volunteer workdays, and tours for New Haven school children throughout the year. Shared work at the Yale Farm often culminates in a shared meal from the wood-burning hearth oven.
Yale Farm produce is sold at CitySeed’s the Wooster Square Farmers’ Market, featured at local restaurants, and shared with volunteers. In an urban area like New Haven, this is as locally grown as food gets.
