Bill:AL HR 261 - Urge Congress to eliminate food deserts
Summary:Bill would urge Congress to make plans to eliminate food deserts. That this resolution would affirm Alabama's commitment to wellness in mind, body, and spirit and our demand for the placement of supermarkets, farmer's markets, fast food restaurants that sell healthy menu choices, and local convenience stores within these communities lacking access.

Bill:AL SB 303 - Ex-felons eligible for SNAP benefits
Summary:This bill would provide that any person convicted of a drug related felony would be eligible for assistance under the federal temporary assistance for needy families program and the federal SNAP upon the completion of his or her sentence or if the person is satisfactorily serving a sentence of a period of probation, including if the person has completed mandatory participation in a drug treatment program.
