Summary:Commends the YMCA organizations for their public policy goals focusing on health and combating obesity. Acknowledges that the YMCA is committed to the cause of strengthening community, serving three crucial areas of focus to help individuals, families, and communities to learn, grow, and thrive. Also, the YMCA sponsors programs that build “healthy spirit, mind, and body for all" and continuously serves adults and children in sports education, fitness, and good health practices.

Bill:AL HB 415 - Requires Alabama DOH to sumbit action plan to address diabetes
Summary:Would require the Alabama Department of Public Health to submit an annual action plan to certain legislative committees addressing the financial impact and reach of diabetes in this state, including a detailed budget blueprint identifying needs, costs, and resources to implement the plan. This bill would require the department to develop a voluntary protocol for practitioners consisting of clinical quality and control measures for the treatment of patients with diabetes.
