NYC Chain Restaurants Posting Calories on Menus
Menu labeling, which requires chain restaurants to post calorie information on their menus, has taken effect in New York City, setting a public policy precedent for the rest of the country. Fast-food and restaurant chains may be fined up to $2,000 if calorie counts are not displayed on menus in the same font and format as the name or price of food items.
