Obesity Study Identifies Genetic Risks

An international team of researchers report identifying new DNA variants near the gene MC4R that may trigger overeating and weight gain. According to the scientists’ recent paper, published in the journal Nature Genetics, people who have variants near the gene MC4R are, on average, several pounds heavier than their counterparts with no variants.
